Training Week 19-05-08

Starting Monday, I decided to delve deeper into a single pass of BJJ, The leg on shoulder pass. Inpsired by Joe Moreira and Michael Jen, I spent a whole day reading as much info on the pass as possilbe.

Important things I discovered were:

The pass is a advanced pass, even though this is usually shown to new students of BJJ, the pass requires certain attributes which a beginner just doesnt have. I.e- Posture, and good posture at that. Forward pressure which is hard to explain even to high level blue's. Now add the huge ammount of details of weight and positions and the pass begins to take on a advanced state.

I spent all this week, working on this pass with my students, trying to get them to understand some of the things I have.

Drills we done:- Start a pass with arm inside opponents guard. Where the opponent can only do a triangle.

We had good results from this, only 1 out off 12 stuadent actually got triangled, showing that with the correct form, this pass is a very good way to aviod the triangle.
