However now a days with the increased popularity of Thai Boxing Norwich and tournaments like the Ultimate Fighting Championships or the UFC, the training especially in Thai Boxing Norwich is gaining popularity. Till the 1900s or the late 1990s there weren’t any set rules for MMA and as a result this sport was considered barbaric and lawless. The injuries incurred by the fighters were also very severe. It was also condemned by noted politicians and their parties all around the world. But in 1993 some ground rules were established and by July, 2000, the final unified rules for MMA came into existence. Keeping these rules in mind several strategies were developed by the coaches and fighters to train in Thai Boxing Norwich.

Thai Boxing Norwich for MMA

Mixed Martial Arts or MMA utilize the two basic techniques i.e. of striking and grappling. All the strategies devised are based on these two basic techniques. The basic idea behind Thai Boxing Norwich is to combine the best of each discipline and increase the strength, power, thrust, agility and flexibility of the fighter.

The first strategy used by MMA fighters in the ring is the ‘sprawl and brawl’ technique. It is an effective technique striking while standing up and when the fight hasn’t touched ground. It is used to avoid taking the fight to the ground so that the chances of deadlocks and tapping outs can be avoided. This technique is usually well learnt through disciplines of Muay Thai, Judo, Boxing and Thai Boxing. It teaches them not give into submission while wrestling and maintain their standing position to avoid takedown.

The second strategy used in MMA fights and taught during Thai Boxing Norwich is the clinch fighting technique (also called dirty fighting technique). This technique is to prevent the opponent to go out of the clasp of the fighter while the fighter attempts to takedown the opponent while punching him at the same time. This strategy uses knees, elbows, stomps and punches. It is well used by boxers to increase knee and elbow accuracy while wrestlers use it to neutralize the striking skills of a superior stand up fighter.

The third and most commonly used strategy of Thai Boxing Norwich fighters is the ‘ground and pound’ technique. In this method the fighter takes down the opponent on to the ground and then continuously tries to get him in to submission by pounding him with punches via the elbow and the fist. This technique is most commonly used by fighters with a wrestling background.

The fourth strategy used by the Thai Boxing Norwich fighter is that of sub-seeking or submission grappling. It came from Brazilian jiu-jitsu and is used by fighters to constantly change their position so as not to give into submission and avoid tapping out.

These were the four main strategies used by MMA fighters. While doing your Thai Boxing Norwich training keep all these strategies in mind so that you can have a head start against your opponent.
